In the summertime, all Pack scouts have the opportunity to participate in special summer camps.
Younger scouts (Tiger, Wolf, and Bear) can join in day-time camps (or evening camps, just without an overnight stay). These may include crafts, hiking, nature watching, riding in paddleboats, and
more.
Webelos scouts can attend a week-long overnight camp, usually at Camp Ross, which is part of the Goshen Scout Reservation (about 3 hours away, south of Harrisonberg). This camp has MASSIVE
campfire programs, week long zany skits and themes, three meals a day, boating, swimming, nature, crafts, scout and camping skills, and more.
Also, both day and overnight camps offer shooting sports -- BB guns and Archery. These official BSA-run camps are the only way Cub Scouts are permitted to earn the Shooting Sports awards, and are
a highlight for scouts of all ages.
